Am I ready to create my own package? What’s the point of working solo? How can I share my package with others? The second presentation is on Tidymodels, a set of R packages that facilitate the use of statistical learning methods (such as random forests, linear models, etc.) in a unified and ‘tidy’ framework. In this presentation, we will see how to use these packages to pre-process data, build, train and evaluate a model.

Embracing open source software for precision medicine
In recent years, the pharmaceutical industry has undergone two major paradigm shifts, both of which have transformed the drug development and collaboration environment. The first paradigm shift revolves around the implementation of precision medicine. The second paradigm shift is around the adoption of programming languages, particularly the rise of R alongside traditional tools such as SAS. In 2022, we weren’t in a position to answer these questions, but things have changed radically in 2023.
